T. Alfred Norman - Melting Granite

T. Alfred Norman - Melting Granite

Reflections on the mirror br Like shimmering ripples and dimples br On its face, a diamond studded br blanket of snow softening the jagged rocks br beneath, below br Crests and waves, crashes and paves br The white sea of long lasting, distant dreams br Gravity and hearts of granite holding our marriage back. br br Two listing agents, we are to write our forewards and sagas br Guided by these hurricane winds, we begin our dramas br On a stage of lessons and plays, shaping our lives br And days, spurred by our momma's and dads br Down proper paths, Washing ourselves from the audience br Of another hollow tomorrow. br br Past, pass me by! Why do you venture my way? br Causing sorrow. Weaving my unknown fears into idle years br Leaving me hear to cry and fill up the well br Of what might have been, with the floods in my eye for br What should have. br br A pain too hard to swallow. br br Follow destiny's footprints from the monsoon of mundane br Must I tame the past and cast my view to the future br If I am to melt this granite that weighs me down br And reveal the diamond that waits to be found.br br T.
