It’s a battlefield CHRISTMAS where soldiers stand guard br Not being with loved ones is so very hard. br But you had made a decision to defend the human rights br And if it must be –then you will stand and fight. br The day is calm and in the foxhole you lay br And in your mind- you begin to pray. br “DEAR GOD “this is the day of your birth br And so many families are feeling the hurt. br They are praying where ever they can br And all we ask is for your helping hand. br Let there be peace and not one shot fired br Because as soldiers we are so very tired. br We have seen death and destruction every where br And it seems like no one cares. br Why has the human heart become so cold? br When once before their families they would hold.! br There once was flairs bursting in air br Now its bombs – and destruction they bare. br Just for this one day – all heads should bow br And give thanks for what we may have now. br So “DEAR GOD”- this is my soldier’s prayer br And with the world, your love I will share.
