jim hogg - The blood and the Bloom

jim hogg - The blood and the Bloom

The dark green leaves twist in the wind br And bloody berries dance December br Flights of geese bank round the moon br And stars that blinded us remember br br The tide has turned, the time has come br To carry back the beauty br For all that love bequeathed us once br Was never ours for losing br br Or would you have us waging war br Upon the ground that raised us? br Or by the night sky o'er this loch br Renounce the flames that saved us br br In this haven time grows stale br The far sky threatens who knows what br Will we dither by the gateway br Knowing all roads lead to loss? br br All our dreams, and all our years br Narrowed down to one last storm br To choose the harbour of our fears br Or the blossom and the thorn br br There is a path, there is a chance br Where we'll bleed, but where we'll smile br Where the light and shadow dance br Where the holly still grows wild br br br 4 11 07br br jim hoggbr br
