Eddie Roa - A Day In August

Today the rays of the sun lost its radiance br It flew away with the summer birds to kinder climes br The breeze no longer warmed, instead, an alien cold br Brought in by the August rain hung clammily in the air br br A few runted fruits stayed on the lichened branches br Abandoned by a beneficent sun of a summer gone br Nothing to reminisce by the glorious time of plenty br Or of the gaiety of nature's floral celebrations br br Prancing newborns romped and leveled wild flowers br In robust green spreads of curling fields of grass br Today they huddled in the shepherd's wooden shed br Shivering in their sullied and stringy fur covers br br Living through the abruptness of seasons, the bleakness of the day br Pensively, I pondered life's dispassionate and cantankerous moodsbr br Eddie Roabr br
