Ananta Madhavan - A Song of Waiting

Ananta Madhavan - A Song of Waiting

I rose at six O'clock br And hastened to Chepauk br To wait and see a Test Match, but rain began to fall. br I tried to hasten back; br Out for a ‘duck', alack! br I waited for a bally bus that never came at all. br br br I waited in a queue br From nine O'clock to two, br To pay my college fees before the penal end of term; br But when it was my turn, br I was obliged to learn br That waiting is no pastime for the bloke who isn't firm. br br Thus life will slip away br In waiting every day, br And waiting has no ecstasies for me at any rate.
