John A. Hancock - Sonnet # 48 The First Snowflake

John A. Hancock - Sonnet # 48 The First Snowflake

Held aloft by the angry winter winds br A single speck of white it falls br Gently doth it ride the rising currents br To no particular place at all br Tis truly a wonderous work of art br There is no two alike in the world to see br Whilst it lands among an ocean of rustic colours br Covering a sea of wither'd green br It lays there briefly just for a moment br Then quickly melts its short life tis no more br The first snowflake having just arrived paves the way br To what the coming winter has in store br Yearly do the children await for the first snowflake to arrive br For they know tis only a matter of time there be amble snow outsidebr br John A.
