Jean Sheridan - Summer 2007

Jean Sheridan - Summer 2007

Summer 2007 br br br Clouds full of rain, day after day br Hailstones and thunder and cries of dismay br We look forward to summer, through winters so grey br And now that it’s here, there’s all hell to pay. br Roads look like rivers, and people despair br Their houses are flooded, they’re living upstairs br Children are crying, it’s cold and it’s damp br And nothing is working, not even a lamp. br br Farmlands are flooded, some crops will be lost br Wheat will be scarce and the bread won’t half cost br Last year the heat wave was too much to bear br Now a nice summer dress I’d just love to wear. br Travel companies are enjoying a boom br As off to the Med we all want to go soon br To escape from the days that make us feel glum br And enjoy a few weeks in the glorious sun.
