Hrushikesha Mohanty - Stars Grounded

Hrushikesha Mohanty - Stars Grounded

A Big gate stared at me today br With its protruding long tongue br Guarded by branching out trees. br Awkward at stares and giggles of waiving branch br Found few stars hanging. br br 1,2,3... br Kept counting br They appeared and disappeared. br Disappointing to judge how many were there br for sure. br br Whatever could be, true br I found them there. br Hope you can see those br On every possible corners br Even daring out in Mid-May Sun. br br Take a pause to count br And if you can pocket those br Like Cricket heroes br To cheer on billboards. br br Scramble for stars here on grounds today br You need not look high for br Unlike Dhruva's meditation of yesterday br Bend to knees to take those away. br br Stars now graze on ground br Where flowers have disappeared. br Dhruva has shied away at falling stars br Seeing those stuck to everybody collars br Who cares for Dhruva of yesterdays br When today itself is anonymous.
