JAMES T. ADAIR - The Lily White Swan

JAMES T. ADAIR - The Lily White Swan

The loon's bold call echoed somehwere on the misty mirror lake br The call was answered by a landing mallard drake br A curious starling chimmed in by mistake br A rattlesnake rattled his rattle to see if any takers would take br A moose let out a trumpeting roar so loud it sounded almost fake br A pickerel jumped from the water and a splash he did make br A skunk put up his tail as if he just stepped on a rake br An eagle swooped down and showed his talons to the snake br A mouse raised his head but hardly spake br A oppossom took a dive as if he was on the take br A crane looked around as if everything was at stake br A dog barked as if to say, 'hey, cut me a break' br The peacock shook his feathers like a bamboo garden rake br The owl lowered his eyes and hooted as if he had come from a wake br But the lily white swan wasn't impressed; she digressed br She chose the rooster when he showed her his peckerbr br JAMES T.
