A poem a day, that's all I'm after, br Nothing too slower, nothing too faster; br A poem to brighten up your mood- br Not too coarse and not too crude. br br Words to lift your mind and soul, br And take you out of any deep, dark hole; br Words to make you pause and think, br To cause your mind and soul to link. br br Thoughts that flow, like melted butter, br Shedding worries from your brain's clutter; br Hoping you will laugh or cry, br and wonder at the reason why. br br Stirring memories of past events, br Whether or not most make sense; br A trip down life's old memory lane, br A ride on a long-forgotten train. br br Lines to cheer you through the day, br Paragraphs to find your way; br Despair can come without much warning, br This poem of joy goes out to you this morning. br br Take this poem and share a smile, br It just lasts a little while; br Take this cup of pleasant brew, br And make this day brand-new.
