Cheryl A. Caron - Inner Child

Cheryl A. Caron - Inner Child

Starting over with blank canvas br Where to go from here br I am lacking inspiration br All my visions are unclear br Square one has always been br A place I fear the most br Roll of the dice could lead to victory br Or waken every ghost br Slowly I kneel trembling br Before that dreaded box br Swelling with anticipation br As I fumble with the locks br Peering inside I see the child br Behind her self built levy br Her eyes are stained with tears br Her shoulders hanging heavy br I call my name; she looks my way br But she doesn’t say a word br Voices are unnecessary br My heart has already heard br I stay a little longer br Perhaps longer than I should br Then I close the box and lock it br Promising this time it’s for good br My canvas no longer blank br Mental pictures still to be painted br My mind brimming with visions br Although painful, sordid, and tainted br br br copyright 2009 Cheryl A. Caronbr br Cheryl A.
