The Magic Dagger is a Hardmode magic weapon that operates exactly as the Throwing Knife, but uses Mana, instead of consuming stacks of the item. It also causes more than triple the damage. A single Magic Dagger can be thrown limitlessly whenever Mana is available, and is never consumed. br br Magic Daggers will fly in a direct line in the direction where you click for the first 16 tiles of distance, then suddenly start being affected by gravity and losing forward momentum (unless being thrown downwards). br br Magic Daggers also produce a small amount of light upon impact with blocks, when they disappear. br br The Magic Dagger is dropped by Mimics. br br The Magic Dagger's best possible Modifier is Mythical. br br Notes br Despite the tooltip implying that it is a single dagger that must "magically return" before being thrown again, multiple Magic Daggers can be thrown in succession without waiting for them to impact. br br The Magic Dagger requires the player continuously click to fire the weapon - its extremely low recycle speed means that the rate of fire is effectively how fast the player is capable of clicking. br br After receiving a massive buff in 1.2, it is one of the more powerful magic weapons in the game, capable of putting out damage almost on par with a Megashark, if the player is actually capable of clicking that quickly and accurately. br br Because the projectiles are small and have an unusual trajectory, thanks to traveling a certain distance before suddenly starting to arc, it may take some time to learn how to properly aim them. br br Water significantly slows the projectiles down, and makes them travel a much shorter distance before gravity takes over. br br The Magic Dagger can pierce, making it a very viable weapon against The Destroyer or the Wyvern.
