Adam Fuller - Priority

Adam Fuller - Priority

How covert can a dagger be br Impaled in the negligent heart, br Who from their mindless sanctity see br No knowledge of use impart? br Free wealth like a lighted beacon shines br But in decay is obscured; br For self-induced ignorance binds br And smothers those it lures. br br Only a balanced life can feel br Harmony in its full; br Else a plush trap threatens to steal br The mind, and its functions dull. br Free time is as valuable as gold, br And tenacious as a stone, br Thus wisely must opportunity unfold; br Success does not yield, nor loan. br br Thoughtless diversion reaps no fruition br And serves not to calm, but to bore; br For senseless amusement took place of tradition – br Of Elysium – Aeneas – e’en Lenore. br Only when the mind is employed br Is a thing worth doing; br Wisdom fulfills when one chooses to avoid br Unworthy endeavors one’s pursuing.
