Sylvia Lukeman - The grasses had been statue still

The grasses had been statue still br When the winds came br And set them swaying, swaying. br br Bulrushes shuddered, shuddered br And bushes started shaking br Their fragile olive green leaves. br br The surf crashed noisily br Onto shore; br Insatiable the short lived foam br Built up once moreand yet more. br br Wild flowers of the brightest br Of reds and palest of blues br br Patterned the shimmering br Grassy slopes br And now they were dancing and prancing. br br I stood near the window br Invigourated by sights and sounds. br Strong lean trees seemed agitated.
