Vera Sidhwa - Dream

Vera Sidhwa - Dream

Said a maiden looking up br To the sparkle that was a star, br 'Dear God, unlock my cage br And let me go yonder into that br Moon-washed field. br br br Let me be alone and lie down br To tumble in the dewy grass, br to move about without direction br In union with raptorous eternity. br br br So now her wish was granted. br She picked up one foot, br She floated for she took relish br In the blue-green sea of light. br br br br When tumbling her pink and blue frock, br Pressed all around her. br Her black hair around it. br Now one star becoming two, br Descended and fiiled her eyes, br br br br With her black hair, br And all dewy eternity caressed her. br She floated into the stars. br She was with him, not alone.
