Kevin Patrick - Innocent Nocturne

Kevin Patrick - Innocent Nocturne

Sailing through gumdrops and aniseed twisters down tangerine Streams br The Buttercups cheerfully wave by the shores dripping citrine smiles br as gingerbread men in truffle skin caps chase us away to caramel skies br Pleasantly threatening us with pitchforks made of liquorice churros br The crystalline coxswain calls “starboard” to the crew of blue Lilliputian botsun br Who counted the minnows with fins made of emeralds passing the sky metallic azure br And the astrolabes pointed to diamond horizons where our dreams will arrive br But who needs a dream when our sails always beam with wind full of whip cream br As Dicots in makeup in June start to break out In synchronized sequence br And Zebras encrusted with coral striped harps played the full rights of spring br And my mind is alight with a thousand June bugs that scatter in zoetrope arrays br Floating in vapour of ambiance and maple in Dutch delight br Standing on the main deck as the vibrant sun caresses my skin with an Innocent Nocturne br Of butterflies and belief as we sail on towards tomorrowbr br Kevin Patrickbr br
