Geoffrey Fafard - The Witch of Windamere

Geoffrey Fafard - The Witch of Windamere

(I heard a laugh a cry a wail... I did) br br Oh wind that whistles o'er water so fair br Blow me a sound that is soothing to bear br Unlike the cry just come to pass br Like a wailing thats nailing pieces of glass br And a shrieking thats sneaking about in the dark br In shadows of woods and mountains all stark br So now I tremble and stand still and wait just a bit br Before walking dark lanes and misty bog pits br That lead me blindly on then further than on br To that stone cottage I go but dont want to belong br She calls me through teeth and wicked lips strong br Full of black song, dark whispers, beckoning come br So I go to her, crawl to her, deep in that wood br In this forest at night that is far less than good.
