Hugh Fraser - I Always Smile Nicely

Hugh Fraser - I Always Smile Nicely

I always smile nicely br and play by the rules, br and as a result br am surrounded by fools. br br My tongue is too floppy; br my thoughts remain hid. br With my dearth of directness br I'll never be rid br br of car-crazy cretins br and lager-lout loons, br name-dropping ninnies br and brainless buffoons. br br To escape from this onslaught, br to shrug off this curse, br I hope I need only write br one simple verse. br br But of course they'll not hear me. br They'll read what I write br and express their distress br at my terrible plight. br br But just in case: Fools! br You all make me sick. br Your mouths are too wide br and your skulls are too thick br br And the space that you fill br - and I'm only being fair - br is better employed br by ten gallons of air. br br What I do's not better br and yes, I may moan, br but at least, very kindly, br I leave you alone.
