David Burton Richardson - THE EVENING SUN

David Burton Richardson - THE EVENING SUN

Words gushing, thrushing br Thrusting and pushing br Are silent when all is done br And they will mean a truer word br As they fade away with the evening Sun br We say to you and say to them br The undoubted honest phrase br That melts away and fades so pale br Into the Violet haze br But words are silent when all is done br As they die and fade away into the evening Sun br So when at last that words no more br Can make ammends and heal for sure br We look within our hidden World br Disabled, ashamed at what we've done br And then the Reaper comes and goes away br Just like the evening Sun br Sun no more, no heated word br Will mend our darkest thoughts br We melt away with faded pale br And bow our Head to a darker World br And walk toward that Violet haze br All is silent when it is done br As we die like the evening Sun br No more the sunlit day br Cracked Blackness, splintered Grey br Never to see the Golden Hay br At the end with words no more br And we cannot pass that violest door br And we have failed unto the last br All we have is memories past br And damn our Soul and damn our days br We fade away into the Violet haze br Silent silence and all is done br We have just memories past br We are no more and Hearts will ache br And melt away just like the evening Sun.
