NIGEL SANDERS - I've smoked my last cigarette

I've smoked my last cigarette br I started way too young br Had my first at the age of twelve br Flakes of tobacco left on my tongue br br I didn't even inhale at first br I did it as a dare br Stole a Woodbine* off my friends dad br Which four of us had to share br br I remember that first retching cough br It almost made me sick br The others laughed, they were old hands br I was dizzy and my head felt thick br br A few years past before my second br Behind the bike sheds at my school br I still didn't like it very much br But younger kids thought I was cool br br The third was in my army days br By then I thought it was super br I suppose that's really quite ironic br As now they say I smoke like a trooper br br The time I always smoked the most was br When out drinking with my mates br But I would always cut right down br When going with girls out on dates br br But if they offer me one now br No will always be my answer br What brought about this change of heart br Was when my Father died of cancer br br br br br br *Woodbine was a cigarette without a filterbr br NIGEL SANDERSbr br
