Tony Best - Saturday Night

Tony Best - Saturday Night

I must go tonight, said the br boy and never come back. br the night is blue-black, I br know too what is to be dark. br br Buses and trains make br fairy sounds in this dark. br He licks his sensuous fine br lips, and rejoices to be br br Young and hungry on br this saturday night. Here br was the club, almost as br though it had journeyed br br to meet him. Lightly he br stands against the firm br backs of other boys br standing in line. br br He smells sweat, stale br acrid sweat and unwashed br hair. He likes it. br he likes the strong br br ammonia smell of br semen too. Good smells. br Yes, to be young and br hungry is a fine thing. br br Music echoes off run-down br walls to parachute into my br mind. keeping rhythm with br my ba-bum, ba-bum. Inside br br sound is tossed back and br forth like frisbees. Voices br reverberate off walls. They br remind of castanets. br br Someone approaches, foosteps br like drums, walking the music! br Ah, his steps mingling with voices br creating new castanets. br br God let his face complement br his music. I am afraid my br darkness will shade the light br of those piercing blue eyes. br br We walk in silence. br no need for words. br We have always br known each other. br br Outside in dark dirty br alley, cats watch with br glowing eyes as we br undress in the black-blue br br night. Our bodies pulsing br with music. It is good to be br young and hungry br on a saturday night.
