Rebecca Kate Summers - Stolen

Rebecca Kate Summers - Stolen

The night is warm around me br A rarity, I admit br Tonight I cannot sleep at all br I am ready to submit br br A tapping at my window br A ghost or faerie form? br Samhain creeps closer, true br To steal me in the storm br br I throw back the heavy covers br I sit up straight and see br A ghostly shape of faerie folk br Taps at my window for me br br Should I stay or should I go? br The faerie beckons me br 'Come with me, my darling one, br And I will set you free' br br I see his shining face through br The window of my room br If I do not take his offer, will br This place become my tomb? br br I throw open wide the window br And let the faerie in br He smiles at me and enters br Will I become like him? br br I closed my eyes and waited br Perhaps for my demise br When I looked at him again br I stared in wild surprise br br A tall and handsome man was he br A man of faerie form br He smiled at me and took my hand br 'Let me take you home' br br He took me to the window br I paused, I was afraid br The stars above twinkled innocent br 'Jump' to me, he bade br br I held my breath, I closed my eyes br I stepped into unknown br Like a white feather I floated down br Landed lightly on the stone br br We ran through the urban forests br Through the darkened night br Hand in hand we leapt and sang br Until the dawns first light br br At the paling of the sky, he said br 'Stay with me, my sweet, br My love, I'll keep you safe from harm, br Listen to my heart beat' br br The breeze caught my hair, I smiled br And nodded in ecstasy br To Fairyland we stole at once br My faerie lover and mebr br Rebecca Kate Summersbr br
