Extortion cases continue to surface in the provincial capital during the holy month of Ramzan. So far 24 cases have been registered during the first 13 days of Ramzan. The number of extortion cases has, in fact, increased during the holy month. CPLC, SIU and other departments of Police are working to prevent these activities. br Moreover, a new group has been identified which is involved in extortion cases. This new group is asking for extortion money through mobile banking. SSP SIU Farooq Awan says that new groups keep emerging in the city and they demand extortion money in multiple ways.
