U.S. House passes border-security funding bill to speed deportations

The House of Representatives votes to crack down on Central American migrants, who are flooding to the U.S. border with Mexico.br br House Republicans passed a $694 million border security bill by 223 - 189.br br The bill would deploy National Guard troops at the southern border and speed up deportations.br br The vote comes despite a veto threat by the White House and the measure won't advance further until September as the Senate is on recess.br br Later on Friday, the Republican led House also passed a separate bill that reverses President Barack Obama's policy of deferring action against minors brought to the US illegally by their parents.br br It was passed by a vote of 216-192.br br This bill would also stop Obama from expanding his policy to other groups of undocumented immigrants.br br But the Democratic-controlled Senate is not expected to consider it.
