Sao Paulo state campus is closed for contamination

Thousands of Brazilian students have been affected by the closing of University of Sao Paulo West campus since January of this year. The closing was due to the construction of the campus on top of soil rich in highly explosive methane gas. The most serious problem is that in 2011 6,000 truckloads of contaminated soil were deposited on campus. A legal case regarding the matter is ongoing.
