Narendra Modi government sacked Kamla Beniwal as Mizoram's governor just two months before her tenure comes to an end. Beniwal had a strained relationship with Narendra Modi when he was the Gujarat chief minister. br A Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said; "The president has directed that Kamla shall cease to hold the office of the governor of Mizoram".Beniwal was shifted to Mizoram on July 6 by the Narendra Modi government.
