The Dzukou Valley also called the valley of flowers is located along the border of the Indian states of Nagaland and Manipur, stretching from the Southern end of Kohima district of Nagaland. This valley is well known for its natural beauty. Dzükou derives its meaning from the Tenyidie word which translates to "Cold Water" referring to the ice cold stream that flows through the valley.
It is situated at an altitude of 2438 m above sea level, behind the Japfü Peak located in Nagaland. The rare Dzükou lily is found only in this valley. It also boasts of a variety of flowering seasons through out the year and is the home of varieties of flowers including Lillies, Euphorbias, Rhododendrons and the valley is heavily populated by a type of tough bamboo shrubs which gives the whole valley a mossy green carpeted look.
The serpentine stream flowing through Dzukou becomes frozen during winter.
It offers one of the best trekking and bird watching trails in North-Eastern India.
