Arunachal Pradesh Day Pragati Maidan.

Omak Komut Collective was started as an initiative when like minded musicians in the state came together with an effort to preserve the age old cultural heritage of the Adi tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. Hence, it was this notion that gave way to this collaborative endeavor to keep alive the dying art of folk songs and ancient oral traditions through which the history of the Tani tribes has been orated for generations (* for the lack of a written script). With Omak Komut on vocals who also happens to be the head priest of Donyi Polo (animist religion worshiping Sun, Moon, and forces of nature), a seasoned folk artist and winner of Youth Folk Festival, Hyderabad, 1987, along other well known session musicians like Getem Apang, Deepak Khongsiet, and Teji Toko (Also a finalist from 'India's Got Talent' show), the band packs in a unique sound that fuses the modern sounds of electro -- jazz, dubstep rhythm and world beats with the age old oral folk traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
