Terry Collett - Just Beyond

Terry Collett - Just Beyond

And Auntie saying Don’t br Go too far so I can’t see you br And off you’d go off down br The iron stairs with the dog br In pursuit and the wind in the br Sails of your coat and the sky br Beckoning above and Auntie’s br Voice trailing away on the wind’s br Wings and you happy as the sun br In the morning sky making your br Feet rush across grass and the dog br Overtaking looking back tongue br Out of the side of its mouth and br You saying Go on you mutt run br Run and your young legs taking br You far from Auntie’s sight and br Yet looking back you know she’ll br Be there hands in the clothes br Wash scrubbing away her elbows br Wet from the plunge and you br Throwing hands to the sky and br Saying Lift me up wind take me br To the great place beyond the clouds br Of white and sky of blue with just br The mutt and five year old you.
