SCRIPT

After 20 years, the second Russian female cosmonaut in post-Soviet Russia prepared to be launched into space at the Yury Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City, Moscow region on Wednesday. The cosmonaut, thirty-eight year old space engineer Yelena Serova is set to take part in a mission to the International Space Station, that will start on September 26, lasting for 168 days.

Serova passed all the examinations and successfully finished training in the Yury Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City. She will be part of the central crew for ISS Expedition 41, together with Russian cosmonaut Alexander Samokutyaev and US astronaut Barry Wilmore.
