A new government being sworn in Iraq on Monday night.br br It will be headed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, a Shi'ite. But it will include members of Iraq's Sunni and Kurdish minorities as well.br br Abadi faces the challenge of unifying the country after it lost ground in northern Iraq over the summer to Islamic State fighters.br br He vowed to rebuild the army, which nearly collapsed in the fighting.br br (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) IRAQI PRIME MINISTER HAIDER ABADI SAYING:br br ''We pledge to support the military operations in all the areas of confrontation with the armed gangs and the terrorist forces and to ensure it continues until victory is achieved.''br br U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says the new government will be a cornerstone in the fight against Islamic State.br br (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S.
