It is of course a reference to the #bringbackourgirls hashtag started back in April following the kidnapping of over 200 school girls by militant Islamist group Boko Haram, and it has stirred up lively reactions online.br Hundreds have taken to Twitter and Facebook slamming the choice of words, saying the slogan is particularly insensitive and in very poor taste. A lot of Nigerian web users are saying trying to secure Goodluck Jonathan`s re-election on the back of a national tragedy is both absurd and stupid. Social networkers hope the massive backlash will prompt the NGO behind the campaign to rethink its communication strategy immediately.br And while a lot of web users in Nigeria have been left shocked by the use of a #bringbackourgirls inspired political slogan, as this article on the 360nobs site points out, it`s not a first in Nigeria.
