Thousands of Ecuadorans filled Independence Plaza in Quito to celebrate the government's new labor code. President Rafael Correa gave a speech in which he warned about the danger of right-wing plans for destabilization similar to those seen in Venezuela and Argentina, and spoke directly to participants of a simultaneous, opposition march held nearby.
