Barbara Bui mixes things up for spring

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)br br STORY: Barbara Bui's SpringSummer 2015 collection, a fusion of contemporary urban and classical Buddhist styling, wowed audiences when it was unveiled at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday (September 25). Bui said she wanted to draw on many different elements in her collection, balancing unusual and foreign details with familiar shapes and forms. Drawing upon contemporary urban styling, the basis of the majority of Bui's outfits utilized simple black and white colors, combining simple fitted shapes with loosely-hanging items and making ample use of transparent fabrics. This elegant simplicity was juxtaposed with oriental patchwork patterns and bright orange fabrics, invoking the robes of Buddhist monks. Bui toyed with many contemporary elements at once - dresses were deconstructed, blazers were given plunging necklines and simple t-shirts were covered in shimmering gold.
