Shahjehan is a 1946 Indian Bollywood film. The film was directed by Abdul Rashid Kardar and written by Kamal Amrohi. It starred K. L. Saigal, Ragini, Kanwar, Nasreen and P. Jairaj. The music was composed by Naushad with Majrooh Sultanpuri.br The film Shahjehan was a fictionalized account of an episode during the reign of Emperor Shahjehan. Shahjahan, the Mughal emperor (Rehman) was approached by one of his subjects, with a request to save the life of his daughter, Ruhi (Ragini). Appalled at this, the Emperor confers with his Queen, Mumtaz (Nasreen), and upon her advise asked his father to bring his daughter to the palace. One of the Queen's aide is troubled by Ruhi's august presence, that she feared that the Emperor may take a liking to her, and would make her his begum. She decided to arrange Ruhi's marriage with Shiraz. The matter gets quite complicated as Ruhi has already been promised to Sohail.
