Rousseff defends social policies on campaign trail

In campaigning in her stronghold in northeast Brazil, incumbent presidential candidate Dilma Rousseff defended her administration's social welfare programs and decisions to increase the minimum wages. She says the result was 22 million fewer Brazilians living in poverty. Campaign advertising will begin tonight, with free radio and TV time alloted for both candidates.
