But, God is kinder than I thought; br He helped me win battles I fought; br From traps in life when I was caught, br A freedom, easily I got. br br He cools me when I am quite hot; br Improves my destiny and lot; br He put me in a lofty slot, br Although I am an ‘earthen pot’! br br He gives me yet, another start, br And does great things, as if by art; br I pray that He must never part br From me, till I, from earth depart.
