Some go to church a song to sing br Some sleep within the fold br But God will do a brand new thing br The bible’s not foretold br br Then arms will rise mouths open wide br Refusal will be heard br “We’ll only do what’s long been tried br Or written in the word” br br God’s Spirit shares His point of view br The word can kill man dead br But Jesus comes with life anew br To whom the truth has led br br For God reveals His plan to us br To man He’ll share His word br Yet many churches make a fuss br And say the truth’s absurd br br Inside, they’re stagnant, weighted down br Burdened, with laws of man br Traditions have come to wear a crown br That turns from Jesus’ plan br br To these! Christ’s only in the book br He’s not alive today br Why don’t they come and take a look br What God has now to say? br br For those who sit at Jesus’ feet br Who of The Truth would learn br The Lord makes these His choicest wheat br But chaff He’ll surely burn br br The time has come to walk God’s way br With open eyes to see br Something new may come today! br Setting His children free.br br Michael P.
