Denis Martindale - I Wandered Lonely In The Crowd

I'm not the sort that folks embrace, br If they've got hugs to spare, br Nor have I fans who fondly chase, br For I'm not debonair... br It's not that folks seem mean or cruel, br Like everyone's a fraud, br It's just that I'm invisible... br So no-one's overawed... br br While I don't have a charming face br That causes girls to stare, br I wander round from place-to-place, br Yet no-one seems to care... br High Street or Low Street, shop or mall, br My faith won't be restored, br I'm not a chap they can recall, br It's like their memory's flawed... br br I'd like to think I leave a trace, br A footprint here and there, br I'm of this Earth not outer space, br Not someone to beware... br It's true some people have the gall, br To shed no love abroad, br If I don't fly or I don't fall, br It's like the world is bored... br br While I'm one of the Human Race, br I've got no chic or flair, br I know that I've seen better days, br But I think life's unfair...
