Bijay Kant Dubey - India In The Eyes of The Non-resident Indians; Just A Mirage

Have you ever thought of the non-resident, br Dwelling in foreign countries, br Foreign, not in India, br Outside India, br Homer hearing the music of humanity br Sitting ashore, br The lore of the shipwrecked brothers? br br When even far from one's own house, br Here in India people will, none but the tenants br And kith and kin will capture it, br What to say about foreign? br When outside of home for so many years, br Relatives may forget you br And when return you back to after retirement, br You will appear to be an outsider br Even in your land. br br There was a time when the people moving to foreign, br Crossing the seven seas, br In their return people used to boycott br After getting the heads shaven in life, br But now-a-days it is a matter of prestige br If one's degrees are from foreign br And it does not whether he knows or not, br But foreign is not so. br br Oh, I deviated and digressed from, br What was I saying to? br Now it is on mind, br O, I was about the non-resident Indians! br When the non-resident Indians away for so many years, br Return back to as for a bonhomie, br They fail to strike the chord, br Establish the rapport, br India seen from far and closely are different from. br br The bar, the cafe, the resort and the restaurant culture br They may not find in middle class conservative homes, br Kiss, hug and embrace, br Partying and picnicking and free mixing br They may not, br The other thing is this that the theatre and the discotheque br They may not in small towns, br The gap between Indian culture and foreign culture br And the last of all, the drinking culture is there br But in the lower segregated classes.
