David McLansky - Nightmare

David McLansky - Nightmare

I dreamt that you stole all my books, br Negating all the pains I took; br The summary of all my life, br My history of love and strife; br And dumped them on a used book seller, br The ones undamaged from the cellar; br How empty stood the wood book shelves br Denuded of my several selves; br Empty slots, blank empty places, br Wherein my life had left its traces; br To transport them you used my daughter, br Driving in the car I bought her; br How you smiled at my stunned face, br My life a barren dusty place.
