Alan W. Jankowski - The Facebook Poem

Alan W. Jankowski - The Facebook Poem

I'd heard about social networking, br And how it was the next big thing, br So I just had to take a look, br And ended up on Facebook. br br It only took me a little while, br To fill out most of my profile, br But I have spent many a night, br Figuring out the rest of the site. br br I never realized I had so many friends, br The friend requests never end, br All the people I can't stand at work, br And now the biggest high school jerk. br br I have to admit I've learned a bunch, br I know what all my friends eat for lunch, br And it really helps me that I know, br Everyone's favorite TV show. br br The work on Facebook never stops, br I have to water my imaginary crops, br Send get-well wishes to Farmville quick, br My friend's imaginary cow got sick. br br I now realize my chances are dire, br Of ever building a Mafia empire, br And perhaps it is a bit of a shame, br My It Girl will never go on to fame. br br My kids' statuses tell me of their life, br At dinner time I get poked by the wife, br I try to keep my friend count nice and fat, br So, I even signed up the dog and cat. br br I guess you can say my life's complete, br I have more friends than I'll ever meet, br On Facebook I can roam far and wide, br And I never have to go outside. br br 02-19-11.br br Alan W.
