Sylvia Plath - Song For A Summer's Day

Sylvia Plath - Song For A Summer's Day

Through fen and farmland walking br With my own country love br I saw slow flocked cows move br White hulks on their day's cruising; br Sweet grass sprang for their grazing. br br The air was bright for looking: br Most far in blue, aloft, br Clouds steered a burnished drift; br Larks' nip and tuck arising br Came in for my love's praising. br br Sheen of the noonsun striking br Took my heart as if br It were a green-tipped leaf br Kindled by my love's pleasing br Into an ardent blazing. br br And so, together, talking, br Through Sunday's honey-air br We walked (and still walk there—- br Out of the sun's bruising) br Till the night mists came rising.
