Egyptian authorities demolished hundreds of homes along the 13 km. Gaza Strip border with the aim of creating a security buffer zone. Residents have been given 48 hours to evacuate their homes with a promise of compensation. The announcement came four days after armed men attacked an Egyptian Army post in the Sinai peninsula.
