Liilia Talts Morrison - Red Sky

Liilia Talts Morrison - Red Sky

Red sky seen at night br is a sailor's delight br red sky in the morning br is surely a warning br br This saying of old br has oft been retold br by captains br and sailors at sea br br The weather is fickle br and often plays havoc br when nothing surrounds br but dark waves br br They speak of rogue waves br those freaks that breed fear br for no one can guess br how they form br br Look unto the sky br dear sailor when doubt br and roving sends you br to sea br br The lowering br smoldering heaven above br will be what it will br in the end br br For way beyond sunsets br and glorious dawn br the stars in the distance br still spin br br The North Star is sure br the Southern Cross pure br Orion's bright belt br standing guard br br When your frail sails tear br and storms snaps your mast br look further br look past all the stars br br Turn weathered and salty br and foggy old eyes br to the captain br who made you and me br br Though leaky the stern br and soggy the bow br your groggy faint cry br will be heard.
