“Preying For Mercy” --- a new film from Bill Duke - Writer – Director – Producer - Actor br br Some say, that Director Bill Duke looks imposing with his shaved head and tall stature. Fortunately, once you meet this gentle giant, that feeling soon goes away. Bill is an accomplished Writer, Director, Producer and Actor. His latest project "Preying For Mercy", is a film Bill Duke along with Executive Producers, David Wenzel, and John Rigores, put together, “Preying for Mercy”, which was immediately signed with Echelon Studios, for Worldwide Distribution. With the well known two-time Emmy actor Martha Byrne (“As The World Turns”), Jayson Gladstone and young Peter Harris, along with an amazing supportive talented cast, this film looks to be outstanding entertainment. br br Action Thriller (2014) 40 minutes ~ Color br br Bill Duke’s credentials are top notch. He studied Dramatic training at Boston University, New York University’s Tisch School of Art, after which he attended the American Film Institute. It was during the early 80’s when Bill began his career as a director, and was able to direct some well known, TV shows such as, Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, and Cagney & Lacey. Bill received wide critical acclaim including, American Playhouse ("The Killing Floor" - 1981) and American Playhouse ("A Raisin in the Sun" - 1989). While acting in two high octane films with Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Predator" and "Commando", he played Carl Weather's the fiery police chief in "Action Jackson" (1988). After cutting his teeth on the small screen, Bill Duke went on to direct his first feature film with the crime drama, "A Rage in Harlem" (1991), and shortly after, he directed another impressive crime film, "Deep Cover" (1992). In 1993, Duke directed the comedy sequel, "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit" (1993). br br Bill Duke has since continued to divide his time between appearing both in front of the camera and behind it, and remains a dynamic, stimulating and creative talent in Hollywood.
