Folayemi Akande - Uncle Joe

Folayemi Akande - Uncle Joe

It was solemn after uncle Joe was gone br He did not die along with his darling gun br It was dearest as if was going to war br But all they had in his time was music tour. br br He got a uniform, took it all serious br To discourage him would be so injurious br His gun never wept the tears of battle-fret br His uniform did not taste the red, thick sweat. br br But dear uncle Joe was never a coward br Had some domestic wars moving him onward. br Now, uncle Joe's gun is in his sharp-spine mouth br He could fight the cold war till the sun goes South. br br It's just dear Joe with his mouth loud as war screams br The scent of war will be perceived in his dreams.
