The alleyway was dark and dusty br plastic wrappers clinging to corners br of depression, escape trapped by wind shifts br swirling in the tunnels of hope, br desperate drips from broken pipes br beating a soulful click, click br breaking into puddles of slime. br br He lay there motionless br unmoved by the activity around him br devoid of all sound and sense br asleep in his gutter of dreams br still br eyes shut. br br Asleep he was unmoving br Christ himself br crucified on the cross br of an alcoholic society. br br His only resurrection br a few drinks away........ br br Author Notes br br AA? br © Marshall Gass.
