Katherine Perry - A Marriage Not Too Late

It is so easy in America to get a divorce br For i have been there and done that a couple br of times br But i don't think there is anything worse br Than the hatefullness that develops in your br mind br br For a marriage begins with hope it never ends br And no one goes into a marriage knowing it br wouldn't last br It is meant for everlasting love, a partner, br a friend br And standing by each other in the good times br and bad br br Without marriage, what would life mean br No relationships means no bonding and no br family br Stuck in a world full of hearts that couldn't br be seen br Just groups of people mingleing and meddleing br br Marriage should be regarded as the holiest br institution among men br For without it there should be no life worth br living br But in today's time, material things are valued br more than women or men br And we spend way too much time wanting more br rather than giving br br With all that goes on in a breakup br When is it considered too late to try again br For after two divorces, i wanted to give up br Until i met someone that made me feel like br life just began again br br Someone who always makes a long conversation br seem too short br Someone who listens to me and seems to care br The kind of relationship you could never abort br And a friendship thats so close, even when apart br there still there br br I know in my heart this marriage is finally right, br my partner is finally right, and my life is finally br right br Who would have thought that true love could arrive br so late br But it did, and for the first time i see the light br For God has given me someone so wonderful that even br time could not take br br For the love in this marriage feels like an accom- br plishment of a beautiful dream, and not, as it often br is, the end.
