Edwin Arlington Robinson - A Happy Man

Edwin Arlington Robinson - A Happy Man

When these graven lines you see, br Traveller, do not pity me; br Though I be among the dead, br Let no mournful word be said. br br Children that I leave behind, br And their children, all were kind; br Near to them and to my wife, br I was happy all my life. br br My three sons I married right, br And their sons I rocked at night; br Death nor sorrow never brought br Cause for one unhappy thought. br br Now, and with no need of tears, br Here they leave me, full of years,-- br Leave me to my quiet rest br In the region of the blest.
